SHAME

“Hot crimson hiding, shrinking under cold ashy grey.” SHAME is an incredibly moving, vulnerable exploration of concealment and emotional heat. The center of the canvas features a fierce, swirling vortex of hot crimson and blood-red impasto, mimicking a raw, boiling center of emotion. However, the true narrative weight comes from the heavy layers of cold, ashy grey and bruised plum paint that relentlessly encroach from the edges, smoothing over and burying the red peaks beneath them. The red looks as if it is actively shrinking and turning inward to cover itself, creating a masterful study in visual density, weight, and shelter.
